Dr. Casey Paleos is a psychiatrist and has been involved in the clinical research of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy since 2009, having worked as a therapist in the NYU Psilocybin Cancer Anxiety Study and as a study therapist and Principal Investigator in the ongoing, MAPS-sponsored Phase 3 clinical trials seeking FDA approval for MDMA-assisted psychotherapy as a treatment for PTSD. While at NYU he also conducted clinical trials into the use of intravenous ketamine for depression and routinely uses ketamine in his clinical practice. He currently serves as the Medical Director at Mindbloom and is a co-founder of Nautilus Sanctuary in New York City.
Dr. Paleos believes strongly that we are presently a species in crisis, in peril of destroying ourselves and much of the life on this planet, and that urgent intervention is needed to shift this tragic trajectory. He perceives the only means of solving this crisis to be the elevation and deepening of consciousness on the part of individual human beings, an awakening to the reality of the fundamental unity of all sentient life and the immanent divinity in all things, in a proportion of the population sufficient to permit a large-scale shift, toward kindness, acceptance, compassion and love, in the day-to-day manner in which we relate to ourselves, one another, and the world at large. It is to this admittedly colossal endeavor that he has dedicated his life's work.
